New Languages - Brief - As time passes, new developments and forms combine to give us as designers the chance to define a new language, to take on or invent a new form of experimental practice or design tool and develop a way for this to be used, received and understood by the public. Over the forthcoming workshops and demonstrations you will be exploring a diverse range contemporary graphic design forms. Through these, you will be asked to produce a body of experimental work which you are to present for assessment.

After experimenting with various processes and material I decided to explore magnetism, I dismantled etch-a-sketches and injured myself with powerful magnets. The idea was to try and create some sort of magnetic sculptures which could be manipulated by the user. This proved more complicated than expected but I was pleased to get some beautiful footage from my experiments, the next step will be to experiment with electro-magnets to allow more control over the iron powder.
